The Chebba or Echebba is a coastal town in the Sahel of Tunisia located 65 kilometres north of Sfax and 36 kilometres south of Mahdia.The city is located at the Cape Ras Kapoudia which is the most eastern Sahel of Tunisia.
It has an important fishing port with a unique situation because its maritime fishing zone is located at the intersection of the fishing zone of blue fish (north to Mahdia) and white fish (south towards Sfax) . This is also a former agricultural town with a significant portion of the population ran the olive tree.
In addition, it is a major service centre, which has seven elementary schools, two colleges, two secondary schools, a technical school, a stadium, a hospital and five health centres.
Thanks to its position on the seafront and its sandy beaches, the city is a destination of domestic tourism, for the inhabitants of the region including Sfax.
